Frequently Asked Questions

Steppin Time is excited to announce that we are now using all-inclusive pricing so that all recital and costume costs are included in the monthly fees, with no larger payments due throughout the year. The cost for a dancer taking a one-hour combo class is $148 per month. You can see our full pricing breakdown on our pricing page. For more specific information about cost, pertaining to what your dancer wants to take, please contact us at SteppinTimeDance@gmail.com.

We offer a 100% refundable trial class. Classes are in high demand and often fill before a student has a chance to complete their trial class, therefore everyone must sign up and pay registration and first month’s tuition in order to reserve their spot. After your dancer’s first class, you can let us know within 48 hours that you have changed your mind and all fees will be refunded.

All-inclusive fees are based on 36 class meetings, including recital rehearsals, and averaged into equal payments. Students are intended to be enrolled for the entire 10 months and only the first month will be partially pro-rated for late registration. You can see our full pricing breakdown on our pricing page.

At 3 years old and FULLY potty-trained, they are ready to start ballet/tap or hippity hop class. At this age, students are ready to learn how a classroom works, to listen to the teacher, take turns and follow direction. Dance is a great way to introduce the structure of a classroom! Although your child may be resistant to the structure or seem disinterested in following directions at first, they will soon learn that they can have fun while they are following along.

We offer several classes geared toward kids who are not yet school age like Pre-school Ballet/Tap (ages 3-5 and potty trained) and Hippity Hop (ages 3-5 and potty trained). These classes are designed to spark the interest of young dancers through the use of imagination games and age-appropriate activities that lead them through the basic skills of dance, while also teaching basic classroom skills. Students who come out of these classes will have a vocabulary of dance words, knowledge of the positions and skills, understanding of music and rhythm and a good understanding of what is expected in a class setting.

6-16 students per class with one or two teachers depending on what the class requires.

No. We have a large viewing window for parents to observe. Several times throughout the year parents are invited in at the end of class to provide an audience.

We will provide a policies-and-procedures guide with a full dress code description. All students are required to wear their hair pulled out of their face. For ballet, jazz, contemporary, and all competition classes, students must wear a leotard and tights. Hip Hop and tap classes may wear any dance or athletic attire- no school clothes. We require pink ballet slippers, black tap shoes, tan jazz shoes, tan canvas contemporary shoes. Shoes for hip-hop, and competition teams will be announced with costumes or before.

All fees are non-refundable. You may terminate your enrollment at the end of any month by signing a form in the office and you will not be charged any further fees.

Yes, we have an annual formal recital at the end of the spring semester- late May or early June.

We very strongly encourage all dancers to participate in recital and include all recital costs in the monthly fee for classes. The recital is a great way for students to celebrate all of their accomplishments throughout the year and all of their hard work. We do not offer a lower fee for students who choose not to participate.

All recital costs are included in the monthly fees. We do not charge anything further for costumes, recital fee or tickets. You can see our full pricing breakdown on our pricing page.

Yes, audition by invitation is required to join these groups. We audition in spring for the following year. New students are added to the competition group only before summer choreography camp. Students who wish to compete should join ballet, tap, jazz and hip hop to prepare for the next competition season, and let their teachers know they are interested. Check out our dance company page to learn more.

All students must be enrolled in a class. Help sessions and private lessons may be scheduled in addition to the class.
